Equipments used with DIY towers

Pioneer SA-9100
The SA-9100 was introduced by Pioneer in 1973 and was offered again in 1974. It was Pioneer's top of the line in integrated amplifiers. Factory specs list 65 watts per channel. It has an extremely broad frequency response of 7 to 80,000 Hz.

Yamaha CA-610
High end contemporary equipment with a classic piece of late 70's. Complete discrete component construction pre-amp & power output stages, 40 watts RMS per channel. Very stylish with twin power output VU meters. Plenty of clean Yamaha power and excellent musical detail that Yamaha is renowned for.

My first DIY Floorstanders

This is an effort to pramote DIY activity in the young people & what can be done using avilable speaker drivers. Why build our own speakers? basically, we can make great sounding speakers at a low cost

We may not achieve the quality of a Rs 1,0000 speaker, but for a couple hundred rupees, you can build speakers that will sound much better than anything you can buy at that price & the satisfaction that you get by building is something great, which cannot be explained. If you are building your own loudspeakers, then you will learn about acoustics, crossovers, woodworking skills, veneering and using tools that you may never have even known existed had you not ventured into one of the most absorbing and satisfying hobbies around.

DIY is for those who want more for less as well as the satisfaction of having created something exceptional, this is my first DIY project. Speaker system is based on D'Appolito MTM-based loudspeaker configuration, uses Vifa drivers with 3 internal braces with double layered front baffle. The lining is padded with 1" sponge and filled with Dacron stuffing & port is tuned to 37Hz. This is a well-rounded and capable speaker that is well suited to many types of music and movies. Bass extention and musicality is it's most impressive with surprising detail and clarity and natural with deep bass. Each weighs 25kgs, uses second order Linkwitz-Riley 2.5 way crossover. Most of the carpentry work done by me.
